As a therapist who has experienced her own therapy with some great therapists and a couple wonky ones, I have a really good understanding of what it takes to provide high quality therapy to therapists.
I know what it’s like to be seeing a therapist for my own therapy and have them treat me like a colleague and not a client. It completely ruins therapy. They treat it more like peer consultation and like we’re friends having coffee together. That is completely unacceptable and is not therapy.
While my natural demeanor is warm, caring, expressive, and friendly, I am always aware that my clients are my clients regardless of their profession, and I will respectfully treat them as such. Upholding appropriate boundaries is very important in the client/therapist relationship, and even more so when the client is a therapist.
I tend to be laid back and relaxed. I have been in the mental health field for almost 20 years. I go with the flow and help support my clients in being relaxed too. I am confident in my skills and experience.
I am always quite puzzled when I hear other clinicians say they don’t like working with other therapists, because I love it! Therapists are great!! I love what I do and I have such high esteem for other therapists as well. It brings me such joy to be able to support therapists so they can support others. You are there for others, let me be there for you.
If you think you would like to work with me please call or text me at 386-968-2032 for a complimentary 20 minute consultation. I look forward to hearing from you.
